Kathleen Bender has always had a special love for the restaurant business. She's acquired much knowledge and experience working in, and operating (even owning one in the past) restaurants. Her present financial situation made it difficult to acquire her own business. REDC was able to help her realize her dream. She found, and was able to move into and reopen a recently closed restaurant in Hughesville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Kathy's Cafe has now been up and running for over two years. The decor will remind you of a nostalgic 1950's diner, with even 1950s music. You can get a great breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just stop in for a cup of coffee and a piece of pie. Kathy's Cafe is open Tuesdays and Sundays from 8AM 'til 2PM; Wednesday through Friday from 8AM 'til 8PM (Closed Mondays) Kathy's Cafe  is now also offering an organic menu, and a special juice bar for vegetable juices and Organic Smoothies. Thursday is Chicken & Waffle day, and it's made exclusively with Free Range chicken. Fridays feature is a very special Haddock. If you are in the Hughesville area, and want a great place to eat, and a great experience all at a great price, look for Kathys Cafe. Its right on the main street.

Antoinette Kester and Joel Vought had a dream of owning their own Auto Sales and Service business. They found a location on West Front Street in Berwick, Columbia County, Pennsylvania. They needed a little help to get started. REDC was able to assist them in acquiring the location and they now own and operate Front Street Motors. If you need your vehicle repaired and are looking for honest estimates, and quality work at reasonable prices, talk to Joel. Recently, Front Street Motors  has obtained their dealer sales license and is now selling used cars. Cant afford new car prices? They specialize in lower priced vehicles, and can provide you with a quality car or truck (or that second car or truck) at a very affordable price. Front Street Motors is open 9AM til 5PM Monday through Friday and Saturday 9AM til 12 Noon. They offer sales and service, including Pennsylvania State Inspections. You can call them at 570-752-0520, or why not just stop by and look around.

When Christine and Dennis Dawson started The Old Filling Station Restaurant  located in Benton, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, it was so named because it actually started in an old Texaco filling station. After being open for only two years, they soon realized that the location could not accommodate the number of people desiring to frequent their business. REDC was able to partner with a local bank to enable the Dawsons to acquire a new location just up the street. They purchased and renovated what is probably the oldest house in Benton. Built sometime in the 1830s, it has been home to several families including a residence and office to several doctors. With the renovations, keeping the original name and bringing some of the memorable decor from the old location, they now have a delightfully decorated location in which to enjoy their fine cuisine. Prices are very reasonable, and all food including entrees, desserts, etc, are homemade, and prepared fresh, with no processed ingredients. They have even added an authentic Thai chef to their staff, and now offer many genuine Thai meals. For clubs and organizations in the area, there are banquet and meeting facilities that can accommodate up to 40 people, and catering services for just about any social occasion. The Old Filling Station Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday through Friday from 8AM til 9PM, Saturday 7AM til 9PM, and Sunday 7AM til 7PM (Closed Mondays). If you're ever in the Benton area and want to partake of a truly quaint and delightful dining experience, stop in to the (new) Old Filling Station Restaurant. You can call them at 570-925-6556.

ASP Platform Services  began as a website design shop with a robust hosting platform and evolved by developing a customer-driven knowledge base. REDC/Leap helped with a small loan in order for the company to become a certified partner for Apps4biz.com (an ERP provider for small business). REDC/Leap has provided additional money for business operations that has keep the company alive during those early lean years as a company. Since then ASP Platform Services provides online applications and professional services to small and medium sized organizations that want to improve their productivity by conducting business on the Internet.
